INTRODUCTION:
The Pillars Dream Living Foundation, in partnership with Kerojet Services Limited, conducted a Ramadan food distribution initiative to support underprivileged families during the holy month of Ramadan in 2024 and 2025. This report summarizes the details of the project, including the number of beneficiaries, food items distributed, and locations targeted.
PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The initiative aimed to provide essential food items to families in need during Ramadan, promoting a sense of community and alleviating the struggles faced by those experiencing food insecurity. The collaboration between The Pillars Dream Living Foundation and Kerojet Services Limited ensured the effective planning and implementation of this initiative.
OBJECTIVES:
a) To distribute essential food items to families in need during the month of Ramadan.
b) To foster community spirit and social cohesion through shared resources and acts of kindness.
c) To support the values of Ramadan, emphasizing empathy and compassion towards those who are less fortunate.
IMPLEMENTATION:
a) Beneficiary Identification: In 2024, 160 families were identified as beneficiaries of the initiative. In 2025, the number of beneficiary families increased to 250, reflecting the growing impact of the project.
b) Food Package Contents: Each package contained essential food items such as rice, sugar, macaroni, and millet, providing recipients with the necessary ingredients to prepare nutritious meals during Ramadan.
c) Daily Cooked Meal Distribution: In addition to the food packages, daily cooked meals were provided to beneficiaries in Osun State, Iragbiji, from the first day of Ramadan until the 30th day in both 2024 and 2025. This ensured that families had access to prepared food for iftar (breaking of the fast) throughout the month.
IMPACT:
a) Enhanced Food Security: The initiative provided essential food items and cooked meals to families in need, improving their access to nutritious food during Ramadan and promoting food security.
b) Community Cohesion: By sharing resources and fostering acts of kindness, the project strengthened community bonds and encouraged a sense of unity among beneficiaries.
c) Embracing Ramadan Values: The initiative supported the values of empathy and compassion during Ramadan, providing relief to families in need and encouraging the spirit of giving within the community.
CONCLUSION:
